Lucky for us here at RentPath, giving back and supporting the neighborhoods we call home is at the very core of what we do. Our mission is to help all renters find and enjoy their ideal home. We believe that having a home is not a luxury – it’s a necessity.
While reflecting on National Volunteer Month, I’m extremely grateful that I’m with a company that strives to give back every month, not just April.
Prior to COVID, my team and I had the opportunity to partner with the Atlanta Day Shelter and My Sister’s House through the Atlanta Mission. We organized food deliveries, prepared and served lunch, and engaged in fellowship with 130+ people. It felt so good to be able to do this! We also helped at the Furniture Bank, where we built furniture for families moving from homelessness into their first home. We wrote uplifting motivational quotes under each table we put together.
Outside of the offsite events, we focus on giving back right from our office – such as helping veterans with their resumes, assembling over 600 snack packs to benefit local homeless children, decorating bags with inspirational quotes, putting together hygiene kits – the list goes on!
Despite the challenges of COVID, we were able to hold some regular awareness and fundraising activities in our new socially distanced world. Every year I participate in the “Atlanta Mission 5K Race to End Homelessness” and we ended up running it in our own neighborhoods this year by sending pictures and celebrating virtually.
It is so rewarding to give back – especially when doing it with my team. It brings us closer and makes our efforts mean so much more. This all makes RentPath a great place to work and makes a job here bigger than a paycheck!
