Why did you join RentPath?

I started at RentPath as a Frontend Development intern. At the time I was fresh out of school and looking for a company that would give me a chance to prove myself and RentPath was the one. They brought me on and gave me the tools and support to learn and thrive within an enterprise development team. It was a no brainer to join as a full time software engineer when the time came because I knew this company was a great place to work.

How does what you do play into the bigger picture?

From small bug fixes to huge feature builds, your work helps build the interface that millions of people use to help find their next home rental. Our entire company is built off of the site you work on, so if you enjoy work that is truly impactful then RentPath is the right place for you.

How would you describe the culture of your team?

We are a team of engineers that live to see our work brought into fruition. From Jr. devs all the way up to seniors we are a fully collaborative team that thrives on communication and success. Learning and growth are also huge parts of our culture. If you don’t know the answer to something, there are people always willing to help.

What tech stack does your team use?

The site that I work on is made mainly with React/Redux, GraphQl, and Node.Js. As well as a legacy site that has a Ruby backend. We have many services and API’s that we utilize within our tech stack as well. We are an AGILE/SCRUM team that heavily tests our code with unit and end to end testing, with a large focus on SEO performance.

What is something others may not know about you?

I used to play in a band that toured and I did music production before I went into engineering.
